Sensex, and Nifty rise in early trade amid strong global trends

Sensex and Nifty rose in early trade on Monday amid strong global trends and a fresh inflow of foreign funds. During this period, the BSE 30-share index rose 563.09 points to reach 60,522.94. Similarly, the broader NSE Nifty rose 161.55 points to 17,948.35. Tech Mahindra, Maruti, Dr. Reddy's, HCL Technologies, Axis Bank, Infosys, Titan, Hindustan Unilever, and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the top gainers on the Sensex. On the other hand, NTPC and Tata Steel declined.
Among other Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong were in the green, while Shanghai was weak. The US markets closed with gains on Friday. On Friday, the Sensex closed at 59,959.85, up 203.01 points or 0.34 percent, while the Nifty closed 49.85 points or 0.28 percent higher at 17,786.80. International oil index Brent crude was down 0.52 percent at $ 95.27 per barrel. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth Rs 1,568.75 crore on Friday, according to provisional data from the stock market.
