Business Desk: Markers Lab, the research and development unit of IT company Tech Mahindra, has claimed that the company, along with Reagene Biosciences, is making drugs that eliminate the corona virus. Both these companies are in the process of applying for a patent for this drug molecule. A senior company official gave this information. Nikhil Malhotra, global head of Markers Lab, said that the company is applying for a patent for this molecule in association with Regine Biosciences. However, Malhotra refused to name the molecule.
Malhotra of the molecule, which was discovered in this way , said that information about the drug drug will not be made public until the patent process is completed. Actually, Tech Mahindra and Regine Biosciences are in the research process. Markers Lab has started a computational modeling analysis of the corona virus. Based on this, Tech Mahindra and Regine shortlisted 10 drug molecules out of 8,000 approved medicines of FDA. With the help of technology, these 10 medicines were shortlisted and three medicines were selected. This was followed by a 3D lung, which was tested. The test found that the molecule is working as expected. Tech Mahindra has done computational analysis and Regine has done clinical analysis throughout the process.
According to Nikhil Malhotra, the use of or artificial intelligence and other computational technology can reduce the time taken for drug discovery. Trials are underway on many medicines around the world, but in the fight against the corona virus, people still rely only on the vaccine. The Government of India has approved the use of Remdesivir and Tosilizumab for the treatment of corona infection according to the condition of the patients. However, they are also lacking due to lack of supply against demand. The lack of tocilizunab can be gauged from this that only 150 doses of it have been made available to Uttar Pradesh.
