Tigor EV is the country's most economical sedan, not only electric but also competes with other cars

Tata Motors launched the new Tigor EV with Ziptron electric powertrain on 31 August 2021. The model lineup is being offered in four variants - XE, XM, XZ+ and XZ+ dual-tone - priced at Rs 11.99, 12.49 and Rs 12.99 respectively, ex-showroom. At the same time, the price of its Dual Tone Edition has been fixed at Rs 13.14 lakh ex-showroom.

Talking about the real world driving range of the Tigor EV, it is being claimed that it can provide a driving range of more than 250kms on a single charge. Apart from this, the cabin space also offers better comfort than the petrol/diesel model. The new 2021 Tata Tigor EV comes with the brand's hi-tech Ziptron technology, which includes a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor and a 26kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The electric motor is capable of generating 75bhp of peak power and 170Nm of torque. This car accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. Its battery pack has been given as IP67 water and dustproofing standard.

The updated Tigor EV can be charged from 0 to 80% in 60 minutes via a fast charger. The company is giving a warranty of 8 years or 1,60,000 km on the battery and electric motor of the car. The new model promises an ARAI-certified range of 306 km. Which is much better than its previous model. Vivek Shreevats, Head-Marketing, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit at Tata Motors, said the new 2021 Tata Tigor EV is the "fastest" and most affordable compact sedan car to drive at 60km and 100km from standstill. Although it does not have any competition in the electric vehicle segment, but it also competes with other cars due to being not only electric but also cheap and economical.

Minor cosmetic changes have also been made in the new 2021 Tata Tigor EV. The electric sedan gets a gloss black panel with electric blue accents instead of the old grille. Other major updates include blue highlights in the headlamps, integrated LED DRLs in the front bumper, tweaked fog lamps and newly designed 14-inch alloy wheels. The new Tigor EV comes in Daytona Gray and Signature Teal Blue color options.
