Amravati A Telugu film industry delegation led by actor K Chiranjeevi met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday to discuss the issues related to the film world. The state government said that it will allow cinema houses to be opened only after the guidelines are issued by the central government. During the meeting Chiranjeevi demanded waiving the minimum fixed electricity tariff of cinema houses, which have been closed since the lockdown was implemented. The delegation also demanded the release of the remaining subsidy for short films.
Chiranjeevi told reporters after the meeting, "We thank the Chief Minister for agreeing to waive the prescribed electricity charges of cinema houses." He said that apart from this, we also demanded to adopt flexibility in fixing the ticket prices of films.
The Chief Minister said that he would consider it. Chiranjeevi said, this will help the film industry to get out of this crisis. State Information and Public Relations Minister P Venkataramiah said that the Chief Minister has shown positive attitude towards the requests of the film world. The minister said, they want subsidy to be released for short films, which the Chief Minister has agreed to release soon. The decision to reopen the cinema will be taken based on the orders of the Central Government.
