Seven teens and four girls have been among 14 civilians, killed when a roadside bomb blew up their bus in northwestern Burkina Faso, the authorities said.
"The provisional toll is 14 dead," a declaration said, adding that 19 more humans have been hurt, three of them severely in Saturday's blast.
The explosion came about in Sourou province close to the Mali border as students back to college after the Christmas holidays, a protection supply said.
"The vehicle hit a home made bomb on the Toeni-Tougan road," the source
told AFP. "The Government strongly condemns this cowardly and barbaric act," the announcement said.
