Army Chief reviews LAC situation amid mounting tensions with China

Amid the continued tensions with China within the Ladakh sector in three locations, Army chief General MM Naravane reviewed things with the highest military brass in Leh.

General MM Naravane visited the 14 Corps headquarters in Leh and reviewed things with the highest brass of the Northern Command, sources said.

The meeting comes at a time when there are tensions within the eastern Ladakh area over Chinese objection to the construction activities within the Galwan Nala area by India.

Field commanders of India and China are talking along the road of Actual Control within the Ladakh sector to resolve the continued stand-off.

Sources said it had been after the Chinese infrastructure development that the Indian side also built a correct network of roads on its side of the LAC using the Border Roads Organisation.

Even though the Chinese choppers are flying on the brink of the Indian patrolling line in Galwan Nala, they raise objections over India's flying activities within the area.

The situation is being monitored closely by the highest brass within the national security domain and efforts are being made to deescalate things .
