Assam on Saturday registered seven more positive cases for novel coronavirus, taking the state tally to 266.
The new cases are reported from Hojai and Dhubri district.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that out of seven new cases, six are from Hojai district and that they are at Sarusajai stadium quarantine centre while one is from Dhubri district.
"Seven people are found to be #COVID19 +. 6 of them are from Hojai but are in Sarusajai quarantine centre. One is from Dhubri but in quarantine. Total cases 266,” Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on Twitter.
On Friday, Assam witnessed highest single-day spike after 49 Covid-19 positive cases were detected within the state.
In last five days, Assam has registered 151 positive cases for the deadly new coronavirus.
Assam has thus far registered 266 positive cases for Covid-19 including including 110 cases from Kamrup (Metro), 22 cases from Cachar district, 15 cases from Golaghat district, 14 cases each from Sonitpur, Hojai districts, 10 cases from Kamrup, eight cases from Dhubri district, seven cases each from Jorhat, Kokrajhar, Sivasagar district, six cases each from Morigaon, Goalpara, Nalbari districts, five cases each from Nagaon, Karimganj, Bongaigaon districts, four cases each from Barpeta, Lakhimpur districts, two cases each from Biswanath, West Karbi Anglong, Udalguri, Hailakandi districts and one each from South Salmara, Dibrugarh, Darrang districts.
