Delhi ministers reached Chhath Ghats to take stock of the arrangements

Delhi government ministers and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Sunday took stock of the arrangements at the ghats to celebrate Chhath in the national capital and interacted with devotees on the occasion of the festival. Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai, and Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot visited the Chhath Ghats in their respective areas. Sisodia inspected the Tyagi Chhath Ghat in Patparganj and took stock of the arrangements and met the devotees.

Sisodia said, “The devotees did not face any difficulty. After the formation of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government, there has been a lot of improvement in the arrangements for organizing Chhath Puja.” Environment Gopal Rai inspected the ghat in Pradhan Enclave and claimed that after AAP came to power in Delhi, Chhath Puja was in the capital. expanded on a large scale.

He said, “Chhath Puja is being held at more than 1,100 ghats across Delhi. There was some hindrance due to Kovid, but this year Chhath Puja is being organized with great enthusiasm. . During his visit, Gehlot inspected the preparations including cleanliness, lighting, water supply, making temporary ponds, installation of CCTV, and other preparations.

After the visit, Gehlot tweeted, "Visiting Qutub Vihar-Matiala and inspected the Ghats of Chhath Puja. People are very happy with the arrangement made by the Delhi government. Chhath committee members expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal." Chhath Puja is celebrated on the sixth day after Diwali and is also called Surya Shashthi as it is dedicated to the Sun God. This festival is celebrated on a large scale in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

On Sunday evening, devotees offer Arghya to the setting sun and on Monday morning they will offer Arghya to the rising sun. In this, devotees stand in the reservoir and offer Ardhya to the Sun. AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak took stock of the preparations at DDA Park of Narayana Vihar Club. MLA Dilip Pandey inspected the Signature Apartment Ghat located at Mukherjee Nagar and MLA Sanjeev Jha took stock of the preparations at Pradhan Enclave.

Delhi Jal Board vice-chairman and AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj also visited the ghats of Chhath at Aastha Kunj in the East of the Kailash area and took stock of the preparations there. Delhi's Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena on Wednesday gave his nod to organize Chhath Puja at designated ghats on the banks of the Yamuna. The Revenue Department of the Delhi Government is the nodal agency for Chhath Puja arrangements in Delhi and all other governments and civic agencies are working in close coordination to make Chhath Puja a success.
