Ballia: A student of class one died after eating mid-day meal at primary school Zaidopur of Bansdih, education area in Bansdih Road police station area of the district. Family members created a ruckus in the school campus due to this. Officials of the administrative, police and education departments reached the spot as soon as the incident was reported. The police have taken the body and sent it for postmortem. The Basic Education Officer has suspended Principal Shiv Kumari Yadav.
Ate polenta
According to the information, Gunjan (5) daughter Jeevan Ram reached the school today in Jadopur, primary school of Bansdih, education area in Bansdih Road police station area. It is alleged that Gunjan consumed khichdi made under the mid-day meal scheme. However, Deputy District Magistrate Dushyant Kumar Maurya, who reached the spot, said that it is being said that his plum is consumed.
It is said that when the children informed the teacher sitting nearby, instead of taking him for treatment, he asked a girl from the family to take him home. She had already moved forward with the student, by then the family reached. They reached the CHC Sahatwar in unconscious state with the girl, where doctors declared her dead. After this, the angry family reached the school by taking the dead body of a weeping girl and mourning keeping the dead body there. A crowd of villagers also gathered.
Teachers gave information about officers
Seeing the commotion, the teachers of the school informed the authorities about this. SDM Bansdih Dushyant Maurya, Basic Education Officer Shivnarayan, SDI Banshidhar Srivastava, MDM District In-Charge Ajit Pathak etc. reached the spot. The Deputy District Magistrate made necessary inquiries with the school head teacher and cook. Prima facie, sampling of MDM's food along with plum was also done when the girl died due to the death of plum seed in her neck.
Dead body sent for post mortem
Block Education Officer Banshidhar Srivastava investigated the MDM. The Food Department team also sampled the MDM for examination. The police have taken the body and sent it for postmortem. Deputy District Magistrate Dushyant Kumar Maurya told that only after the post mortem report, the causes of death will be revealed. On the other hand, Principal Education Officer Shiv Kumari Yadav has been suspended by Basic Education Officer Shiv Narayan Singh after receiving the inquiry report of Block Education Officer Bansdih. The report stated that 34 children had arrived on Wednesday, relative to the total of 80 children enrolled.
The headmaster said that all the children received MDM, but no untoward incident occurred with any other child. According to the report, the inquiry also stated that jujube, a student studying in first grade, had a plum seed stuck in the throat. Sampling of MDM's food and plum has been sent for examination.
