New Delhi: The Ministry of Health said on Tuesday that 1,17,54,788 doses of Kovid-19 vaccine were applied in the country till 1 pm on Tuesday, out of which 1,04,93,205 was the first dose and 12,61,583 was the second dose. 11 states and union territories, including Karnataka, Telangana, Delhi, Punjab, have administered the first dose of vaccine to less than 60 percent of health workers.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan informed that in 12 states and union territories including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, more than 75 percent health workers have been given the first dose of Kovid-19 vaccine. The South African strain of SARS-COV-2 has been detected so far in India.
Bhushan said that 75 per cent of the cases under treatment of Kovid-19 in the country are in Kerala and Maharashtra. Of which 38% are active cases in Kerala and 37% in Maharashtra. Also, Karnataka has 4%, Tamil Nadu has 2.78 active cases.
