Samba: A two-day workshop for frontline workers was started by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Department under the aegis of District Program Officer Anu Bahl in Vijaypur today. Joint Director, ICDC Jammu and Kashmir DS Katoch was the distinguished guest on the occasion. Among others, child development project officer Vijaypur, Madhur Anand, supervisor of ICDS department Samba and ministerial staff were also present.
The workshop traditionally started with Saraswati Vandana and was followed by detailed lectures covering important topics of ICDS, Management Information System Register, Early Childhood Care and Education, Monitoring the growth of infants and young children. During the workshop, frontline workers also presented a stall on pre school and educational materials which are required as learning aids in Anganwadi centers. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Anu Bahl highlighted the importance of reintegration training of frontline workers towards their duties. He also emphasized on the recent budget of 2021, which has a major emphasis on the nutrition campaign. Apart from this, he said that the emphasis of the department is to curb communicable diseases like TB, which is being started in a new mission mode with nutrient fortnight in the month of March.
Apart from this, DS Katoch emphasized the role played by frontline activists during the global epidemic. He also appreciated the efforts of District Program Officer, ICDS Projects, Samba for arranging this redevelopment workshop at Vijaypur, which is an innovative initiative in the IEC module. In addition, he directed frontline activists to carry out mandatory activities of development monitoring, providing supplementary nutrition and undertaking cooperation with the Department of Health to maintain their records and identify malnourished children. The vote of thanks was finally presented by the Child Development Project Officer Vijaypur.
