Srinagar: Kashmir Police Chief Vijay Kumar has requested the media not to telecast the encounters between the security forces and the terrorists. He said that live telecast should not be done to maintain law and order. The IGP said that the operation and duty of the security forces should be respected.
The IGP has requested the mediapersons not to come close to the encounter sites. He said that there is freedom of speech but there should be a limit to it. Under Article 21, the freedom to endanger the life of others or the freedom of statement that endangers the security of the country is not right.
He further said not to interfere in the duty of security forces at the encounter sites. Do not do any telecast that can provoke violence and deteriorate law and order.
