NIA to investigate Praveen murder case recommends Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai

Ruckus continues in Karnataka over the murder of BJP's Yuva Morcha leader Pravin Netaru. Even though there is a BJP government in Karnataka. Despite this, party workers are continuously expressing their opposition to this murder. The news is also that many party workers have even tendered their resignations. Amidst all this, the Karnataka government has taken a big decision. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced that the Karnataka government has decided to hand over the Praveen murder case to the NIA. It was believed that the Karnataka government was on the backfoot regarding Praveen's murder. This is the reason that the NIA has been recommended for the investigation of this murder.

Earlier on Thursday, two people were arrested from Dakshina Kannada district in connection with the murder of Praveen Netaru. Both are suspected to have links with the Popular Front of India (PFI). The arrested accused have been identified as Zakir (29) and Mohammed Shafiq (27) of Bellare in Sulia taluk in the district, police said. According to the police, both the accused are from Bellare, they have suspected links with the PFI which are being probed. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Alok Kumar said that we had detained him last evening and after interrogation, we arrested him. We will produce them before the court, seek police custody and conduct further investigation into the matter.

State Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai himself had said in Bengaluru that if the situation so demands, the 'Yogi model' of Uttar Pradesh would be adopted in Karnataka as well to deal with anti-national and communal forces trying to create unrest. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced late on Wednesday that he would not celebrate the completion of one year of his government following the killing of a worker in the BJP stronghold Dakshina Kannada. BJP President JP Nadda was also to attend the event. Senior BJP leaders are currently busy persuading the workers. The workers are being assured that the government at its level will take strict action against those involved in the murder.
