On the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, two kawandis died due to drowning in the Ganges, water came from Mainpuri
Badaun (UP): Two kanwadis who came to fill the water carrying the festival of Mahashivratri at Attaina Ganga Ghat of Ushait police station area in Badaun district died due to drowning in the Ganges. Both Kanwarias were residents of Mainpuri district. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot on Wednesday night after much effort with the help of divers and took the bodies out of the Ganges and sent them for postmortem.
According to the police, "Subodh Kumar (22), resident of Singarpur village of Bichma police station area of Mainpuri district, and Amarjeet (21) of Karimganj, along with a batch of 27 of their companions to fill the water on Wednesday, Ataina Ganga of Usahet police station area The tractor at the pier came by trolley. Amarjeet and Subodh went into deep water to bathe in the Ganges. Both of them started drowning in the Ganges. By the time the companions could understand something, both of them died by drowning.
Superintendent of Police Praveen Singh Chauhan said that Amarjeet and Subodh, along with a batch of 27 of their companions, had come to the water to fill the water at Ataina Ganga Ghat to perform the water festival on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri. Both drowned while bathing in deep water. This led to his death. The bodies of both have been sent for post-mortem. The police has started the investigation.
