Samba: The leaders of his party today urged the government to pay compensation to the families of fire victims of Gujjar community in Kralia (Ramgarh), a village in the district. Yesterday, there was a fierce fire in the homes of these people. Expressing his condolences with these victimized family members who lost their shelter, Diya JKAP Provincial President Manjit Singh and senior Gujjar leader Salim Alam visited the village and met the family members of the victim. While visiting the victim families, Manjit Singh and Salim Alam distributed relief materials, rations and utensils to the victim families of the community.
Former Minister Manjeet said that the administration should provide necessary relief to the victims in view of the ongoing Ramadan. He said that the administration should constitute a team of officers and provide pucca houses to all the affected families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He said that the Gujjar community has to keep a fast during Ramadan and they should be provided with good quality tents as soon as possible by the administration under natural calamities. He said that the victims have no food left, their children are under the open sky and they have no choice even to the hut because everything has been burnt in the devastating fire. He said that the nomads should be provided with clean drinking water and a medical team should also be sent to conduct health tests of the victims.
