Sardar Patel has foresighted to realize the dream of a strong and united India: Home Minister Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel has realized the dream of a strong and united India with his vision despite the opposing forces trying to keep the country divided. Shah said that India will realize the dream of freedom fighters of becoming a strong and prosperous country in the next 25 years and will celebrate its 100th year of independence.
He said this while flagging off a race to mark the 147th birth anniversary of India's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the national capital. Shah said, “Even at the time of independence, there were efforts by some forces to keep India divided. We have seen how Sardar Patel, with his foresight and political acumen, included Junagadh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Hyderabad in the Union of India. A large number of people including sports enthusiasts and jawans of the Central Police Forces attended.
On the occasion, Shah also paid tributes to those who lost their lives when a bridge over the Machhu river collapsed in Gujarat's Morbi on Sunday. So far 130 people have died in this accident.
