Shatrughan Sinha said- Rahul Gandhi proved his leadership with India Jodi Yatra

Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha has said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has proved his leadership ability through Bharat Jodo Yatra. Sinha said in an interview with PTI that Rahul's 3,570-km-long march, which began from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, will help the Congress double its number of seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress won 52 seats.

He said, “Bharat Jodo Yatra is getting very good support. Rahul Gandhi's charisma has started working and he is getting tremendous support from the public. I think Rahul's visit will help in doubling the number of Congress seats in Parliament in the next Lok Sabha elections. Not doing 'rath yatra'. Lakhs of people are coming in his support.

He has proved his leadership ability. People have accepted him as a leader. Those people made fun of him by calling him 'Pappu' and did not take him seriously. Had it. He switched from BJP to Congress in 2019 before contesting on the Trinamool Congress ticket.

He said, "BJP leaders are making fun of Rahul Gandhi, but if they have guts, then show them by traveling on foot like this. Rahul Gandhi's magic will work in the next election. This is what I feel and I want to see it happen." Referring to the Gujarat elections, the Trinamool Congress leader said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will either emerge as a 'kingmaker' or himself a 'king'.

Sinha said, "There is a stir in the saffron camp in Gujarat. The BJP cannot capitalize on the issue of Hindutva and Ram temple every time. Kejriwal has played a masterstroke by demanding that the picture of Lakshmi-Ganesh be put on the notes."

"The BJP used to act as if it was the master of 'Hindutva ki Pathshala in politics' but Kejriwal is now the headmaster of that school. The Trinamool Congress leader claimed that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee would prove to be a picture changer in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He expressed hope that the relations between the Trinamool Congress and the Congress would improve.

He said, “Nothing is final in politics. A bad relationship today doesn't mean it won't improve tomorrow. I feel that the political situation in the country will be completely different if the big opposition parties come together." "It will be decided on numbers and mandate. The country never stops, governments keep changing, new leadership comes."

In a veiled attack on the BJP over posters about his 'missing' being put up in Asansol last week, Sinha said, "Those who have not been able to digest the defeat in the bypolls till now, are behind it. I was in my parliamentary constituency for Durga Puja and stayed here till last week. I am also celebrating Chhath in Asansol. I have been going to Asansol regularly.
