Andaman and Nicobar Police has tightened the noose on the former Chief Secretary in the gang rape case of a young woman. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Monday questioned former Chief Secretary Jitendra Narayan in this connection. This was the third day of interrogation.

This is our fight to protect the dignity and honor of our local women. If they are found guilty then strict action should be taken against them. We demand a fair probe by the SIT in the matter.

Accused of rape on the pretext of getting a job
Significantly, the 21-year-old girl had accused Jitendra Narayan and others of rape. The victim says that the rape incident was carried out at the residence of the former chief secretary. Following the allegations, a search operation was conducted with a forensic team at a homestay on Sunday.

Apart from Jitendra Narayan, a case has been registered against Labor Commissioner RL Rishi, police officer, and owner of the homestay. According to the news agency, the SIT team was seen coming out of the homestay with some envelopes. However, information about this was not given. The former chief secretary has been kept in a private resort. He arrived here to face interrogation following the order of the Calcutta High Court.
