Azamgarh: The roadways complex in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh was stirred up when a soldier committed suicide by shooting himself with a rifle. After receiving the information of the incident, a large number of police personnel along with the Superintendent of Police reached the spot and got involved in the investigation of the case.
Let me tell you that there was a stir at the Azamgarh roadways stand on hearing the bullet. On hearing the sound of the bullet, when the people reached the spot, a soldier was found in an injured state. He was rushed to the district hospital. Where the doctor declared the soldier dead. When the investigation started, it was found that the deceased is a soldier of the Excise Department.
Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Singh said that 47-year-old Abhishek Kumar Pandey was a resident of Beniganj in Ayodhya district and was posted in the Excise Department in Varanasi. He came by a bus to Azamgarh Roadways. He committed suicide by shooting himself with a departmental rifle in the Roadways campus. Hearing the sound of firing, the people around reached the spot. After this, the injured soldier was rushed to the district hospital for treatment, where he died. The Superintendent of Police said that the body of the deceased has been kept in the morchary for postmortem. Family members have been informed. The cause of suicide is being investigated.
