The nation is paying tribute to Sardar Patel and Indira Gandhi, Rahul pays tribute in Telangana

The nation is celebrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary today as 'Ekta Divas. Today is also the death anniversary of former PM Indira Gandhi. The leaders and citizens of the country are remembering the departed leaders. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid tributes to both the leaders in Telangana during the Bharat Jodo Yatra today.

Many leaders including President Draupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Home Minister Amit Shah, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Vinay Kumar Saxena, Union Ministers, and many leaders paid their respects to Sardar Patel by reaching the memorial.

After independence, Sardar Patel played an important role in the unity of the country and the integration of more than 500 princely states in the creation of a united India. At the same time, Indira Gandhi made sacrifices due to the struggle to rid the country of terrorism. He was shot dead on 31 October 1984 at his residence in Delhi.
