The political crisis of Maharashtra is continuously deepening. Meanwhile, news has come that Trinamool Congress (TMC) members and workers started protesting at a hotel in Assam where a group of rebel MLAs from Maharashtra, including Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, are staying. At the same time, the police are taking the protesting workers into custody. According to the information, Assam Minister Ashok Singhal has also reached the hotel.
A total of 42 MLAs from Maharashtra are present along with Eknath Shinde at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Guwahati in Assam. This includes 34 MLAs of Shiv Sena and 8 Independent MLAs. Rebel MLAs from Maharashtra, present at Radisson Blu Hotel, met former Minister of State for Home and Shiv Sena leader Deepak Kesarkar. At the same time, TMC leaders started protesting against these MLAs.
The protesters raised slogans accusing Assam's ruling BJP of investing all its resources in enabling a Shiv Sena coup to topple the Uddhav Thackeray government in Maharashtra. The TMC also alleged that the state government has done nothing to alleviate the suffering of the people affected by the heavy floods in the state.
The protest was led by TMC state president Ripun Bora. At the same time, police forces are deployed outside the hotel for security and the hotel has been converted into a fort. Assam's ADGP Hardi Singh has also reached the hotel.
