Former India pace spearhead Zaheer Khan feels Jasprit Bumrah wishes to be greater aggressive and take extra dangers to make his presence felt in the upcoming Test collection against New Zealand after going wicket-less in the ODI series.
Zaheer stated the opposition batsmen have now end up extra careful whilst playing Bumrah and the pace spearhead desires to put extra effort to return to form.
“When you construct a reputation like how Jasprit Bumrah has built now over the years, you will have to fight this,” Zaheer was quoted as saying by way of cricbuzz.com.
“...The groups are saying ‘ok even if we get 35 runs, we are completely satisfied with that as lengthy as we are not giving him wickets due to the fact then we can attack the other bowlers’.
“That is some thing Bumrah has to understand, that he has to be greater aggressive in terms of looking to get those wickets. Bumrah wants to take greater risks,” he added.
Zaheer said batsmen have end up careful while going through Bumrah.
“He is aware of the batsmen are going to be protecting so he has to discover that way of going for wickets instead than hoping that the batsman will make a mistake. The batsmen are taking a very conservative approach, they are making positive that Bumrah’s wicket taking column is now not getting filled,” he said.
“It’s a suitable signal that other batsmen are giving him that respect, so it’s now Bumrah’s call to make them play. You have to inform your self ‘my job is now not to contain, my job is to take wickets and in the manner if I go for runs so be it. I am the lead bowler so I have to dictate terms’,” he added.
