Corona regains momentum: 5,928 new cases in UP, 30 infected

Lucknow: In the last 24 hours in Uttar Pradesh, 5928 new patients of corona virus have been confirmed and 30 infected have died. Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters on Tuesday that 5,928 new infections have been detected in the state in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of cases has increased to 6,39,928. He said that in the same period, the number of corona infected who lost their lives after the death of 30 infected has increased to 8,924.

On Monday, 3,999 cases of Kovid-19 were reported in the last 24 hours. Prasad said that the number of patients currently being treated for infection in the state is 27,509. He said that in the last 24 hours, 1,176 patients have been sent home from hospitals after treatment while 6,03,495 patients have become free from infection after treatment. Additional Chief Secretary said that more than 1.79 lakh samples were tested in the state on Monday and more than 3.57 crore samples have been tested so far.

For the last several days, the number of new cases in the state capital Lucknow is crossing one thousand every day. According to the Health Bulletin, 1,188 in Lucknow, 915 in Prayagraj, 711 in Varanasi and 306 in Kanpur Nagar have been found infected in the last 24 hours. In the same period, seven people have died in Lucknow, four in Kanpur city, three in Prayagraj, two each in Varanasi, Sitapur and Muzaffarnagar. Prasad has appealed to all people to be cautious and follow the Kovid-19 protocol.

Meanwhile, District Monitoring Officer Dr Sunil Dohra of Gautam Buddha Nagar told that 94 patients were found infected with Kovid-19 in the district on Tuesday and one infected has died. At the same time, corona virus infection has been found in 82 people in Agra.
