LUCKNOW: District authorities on Friday sealed Tufail Ahmad Marg in Narahi and Haathi Khana in Fatehganj after one resident each from these localities was found positive for novel coronavirus infection. These areas are additionally to 12 hotspots within the capital .
Total three patients tested positive on Friday, including a 25-year-old pregnant woman in Narahi, a jaggery trader in Fatehganj and a shopkeeper in Nazarbagh.
With this, the tally of Covid-19 patients within the city has gone up to 251.
Meanwhile, five patients were discharged from RSM Hospital taking the entire number of recoveries to 177.
The pregnant woman had visited gynaecology department of Vivekanand Polyclinic Institute of Medical Sciences (VPIMS) for routine check abreast of Wednesday. Like other patients, her swab samples were also sent and her report was found positive.
As soon because the report arrived, authorities swung into action and sealed Tufail Ahmad Marg. Five relations of the lady were sent to a quarantine centre while samples of 15 contacts were sent for testing. She was admitted to KGMU where doctors said that she was stable.
Secretary, VPIMS, Swami Muktinathananda said, “The area visited by the patient within the hospital has been sealed for 48 hours for sanitisation. Other wings are kept open for emergency services through other gates. Though doctors were using PPE, we've quarantined 10 persons, including two doctors. Their samples are sent for testing,” he added.
Meanwhile, RLB Hospital in Rajajipuram, where a Covid positive woman was brought by cops, was sealed on Friday for sanitisation. Test reports of 51 hospital staff, 14 policemen and 16 members of shelter home where the destitute has been kept has come negative.
