UP: Big action of Yogi government! Doctor Kafeel Khan dismissed in connection with the death of children in Gorakhpur's BRD Hospital

The Yogi government has taken major action in the case of death of children in Baba Raghav Dao (BRD) Medical College, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. In this case, the UP government has dismissed the accused Dr. Kafeel Khan. Kafeel Khan had already been suspended in this case. In the year 2017, he was suspended for the death of children due to lack of oxygen. He also went to jail. Now the government has taken dismissal action against him.

A committee was investigating the allegations against Kafeel Khan and now the Medical Education Department has taken major action and dismissed Dr. Kafeel Khan. In August 2017 at Gorakhpur's BRD Medical College, several children died due to lack of oxygen. After all the controversies, on 22 August 2017, Kafeel Khan was suspended considering him as a prima facie accused. A departmental inquiry was initiated against him. After suspension, Dr. Kafeel was attached to the office of DGME. In this case, 9 people including Dr. Kafeel were accused. Dr. Kafeel had also sought help from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to end his suspension.

Case is pending in High Court

Here Dr. Kafeel filed a petition in the High Court against the suspension. Meanwhile, the government again ordered a probe against Kafeel. After the order of the High Court, on 24 February 2020, the government withdrew the order of the re-investigation against Kafeel. The government had accepted the investigation report filed by the investigating officer on 15 April 2019 in this case. Dr. Kafeel Khan was found innocent in this report. The report said that no evidence of corruption or negligence has been found against Dr. Kafeel Khan.

Kafeel Khan will go to court

In the matter of dismissal, Dr. Kafeel said that his case is pending in the High Court. The court has given the date on December 7. He said that he has faith in the judiciary. He will appeal in the court against the dismissal. The report of the departmental inquiry has been sent to the Public Service Commission. The commission has dismissed Dr. Kafeel. In this regard, by sending a letter to the Medical Education Department from the commission, information has been given about Kafeel's dismissal.
