Lucknow: The  Uttar Pradesh government said on Friday that it will start vaccination of people in the age group of 18-44 from today onwards in seven districts where there are more than nine thousand under-treated patients of infection. After this, vaccination of people of this age group will also be started in other districts. Additional Chief Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad on Friday said that from May 1, vaccination of people in the age group of 18-44 will begin in seven districts and will be implemented in other districts after that.

He informed that in the first phase, vaccination will be done in seven districts where there are more than nine thousand under-treatment patients of infection. According to Prasad, the districts where vaccination will start from Saturday include Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Meerut and Bareilly. He said that the software made for this vaccination will also be tested in these districts and after that it will be extended to other districts as well.
The state government had decided to give Kovid-19 vaccine to people above 18 years of age and on Thursday decided to issue a global tender to purchase four to five crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine.
