UP: Misbehavior with a student in Deoria, case of molestation filed against the teacher

In the Deoria district of Uttar Pradesh, a government school student was allegedly molested, assaulted, and threatened by a teacher of the same school. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. According to the police, an FIR has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code including the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

Meanwhile, an official of the Education Department said that the District Basic Education Officer (BSA) has suspended the accused teacher with immediate effect. Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said that on October 25, teacher Anwar Ali (30) molested a 15-year-old girl student studying in class VI in an upper primary school located in the Surauli police station area. He told that when the student protested against the molestation, the accused teacher thrashed her and threatened her. The girl reached home and informed her family members about the incident.

After this, the family members complained to the police and education department officials in this regard, he said. Sharma said that an FIR has been registered against the accused teacher on charges of molestation, assault, and threatening. He said that efforts are on to arrest the accused.
