UP Panchayat Election: Reservation list released in Jaunpur, these castes get discouraged

Jaunpur For the Panchayat elections, the list of reservation in Jaunpur district has been issued by the Panchayat Department along with the administration on the last half-night. Now objections are awaited regarding this list, objections will be taken till 10 March. It will be disposed of after this. After that, the election of the panchayat will be done on the basis of the list issued. After the reservation list released by the Panchayat Raj Department and the government machinery, a large number of people of the general category who were intent on contesting the election of the gram panchayat, have seen a lot of disappointment. People have been criticizing the standard and formula of reservation.

Reservation list released

Please tell here that after the release of the list of reservation of 1740 gram sabhas in the district, the reservation situation has become clear. In 1740 gram sabhas, 799 villages have been reserved for scheduled and backward castes. In this, there are 138 village sabhas for Scheduled Caste women, 245 village sabha for the male and a total of 383 village sabhas have been reserved for the Scheduled Castes.

Similarly, 165 village councils have been reserved for backward caste women and 311 villages have reservation for men. Whereas 881 village sabhas have been unreserved in general, in which anyone can contest elections. In this, 283 village councils have been reserved for women, 598 village councils have been kept for men from where anyone can contest elections. In this process of reservation, not a single village assembly has been reserved for the Scheduled Tribes within the district. As is evident from the official record of reservation.

Criticism of reservation standard and formula

After the release of reservation list, now the standard and formula of reservation in the public mind has also started criticizing it. It is being told that the villages which have been declared unresponsive have been declared normal. There are also such large number of village councils where there are no people of general category. Even there, the possibility of benefiting the backward castes cannot be ruled out. The funny thing is that there are also such villages in the list of reservation that the people of the caste for which the class has been reserved are not in the respective village. Rural people, while rejecting the standard adopted for reservation, argued that if there is no people of that caste for whom reservation has been given, then in such a situation what will be the meaning of reservation.

Election equation

Reservation has disappointed those who beat the electorate for the past several months in the electoral battle. The claimants who came to see the list in the Vikas Bhavan campus also said that the Savarna society will get less benefit of the government policy in the panchayat elections. The effect of which can be seen in the Assembly elections of 2022. Even in normal villages, a large number of people from backward castes are going to beat. However, after the release of reservation list, the possibility of changing the electoral equation can no longer be ruled out.
