UP Panchayat Election: Voting started in 20 districts for the third phase, 10,627 candidates are in the fray for 746 seats
Lucknow: Polling in 20 districts for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Panchayat elections has started from 7 am in the midst of Corona crisis. A total of 3,05,71,613 voters will vote at 49,789 polling stations.
According to the State Election Commission, polling from 7 am to 6 pm Firozabad, Kasganj, Hamirpur, Fatehpur, Pilibhit, Moradabad, Deoria, Balrampur, Siddharthnagar, Kanpur Dehat, Auraiya, Jalaun, Unnao, Barabanki, Amethi, Meerut, Shamli, Chandauli , Ballia, will move to Mirzapur. Along with this, there will be adequate arrangement of sanitizers, masks etc. at all polling booths following the Kovid protocol. Social distancing will be maintained among voters.
In the third phase, 10,627 candidates for 746 seats of Zilla Panchayat member, 89,188 candidates for 18,530 seats of Kshetra Panchayat member, 1,17,789 candidates for 14,379 seats in Gram Pradhan and 1,80,473 seats in Gram Panchayat ward. 1,34,510 candidates are in the fray.
