Commissioner Rural Development has directed the Chief Development Officers to send a proposal for grant of ex-gratia amount to the dependents of the deceased workers due to contamination during Kovid duty. Government employees working in the department as well as personnel of semi-government, contract workers, daily salaried, outsourced, autonomous institutions will be covered by it.
The Commissioner of Rural Development has cited the earlier mandate issued by the Revenue Department regarding the ex-gratia amount. It is written that at present the officers, employees of the Rural Development Department have been entrusted with the important responsibilities of prevention, treatment and prevention of Kovid-19 in the state headquarters, mandals and districts. The government has decided to accept a lump sum of Rs 50 lakh as ex-gratia for providing social security to the dependents in the event of death of Kovid-19 from the personnel working in these works.
