Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh). A youth was lynched to death over a land dispute in Karaundikala area of Sultanpur district. Angered by this incident, villagers demonstrated by placing the dead body on the road. Police sources said here that Rakesh (38) of Amnaikpur under Karaundikala police station area of the district was seriously injured in a fight between two parties on Wednesday.
According to sources, he was referred to Lucknow Trauma Center after his condition became critical, where he died during treatment. He told that after Rakesh's body came to the village, the villagers started protesting by placing the dead body on the road near Dashgarpara turn.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and tried to convince the people, but the villagers remained adamant about demanding strict action against the accused. Then Kadipur Police Officer Dr Radheshyam Sharma reached the spot and explained to the villagers, after which the jam could be opened. Sources said that the police have registered a case in this regard and have taken necessary action.
